The patient will experience a sudden spinning sensation, which causes him or her to halt their movement or actions. There will be a typical inner feeling or spinning; this can be either mild or intense, depending on the intensity of the illness. This may happen even during minor body or head movements. For instance, when the patient gets up from the lying position, this can happen. This can also occur during walking or while the individual turns his or her head.
Causes of Benign positional vertigo (BPV): The fundamental cause for this condition is the disorder that happens in the inner ear. In the normal course, the fluids in the inner ear have an appropriate and proportional movement, precisely in accordance with the body movement of the individual concerned. The semicircular canals, through which the fluid gets circulated within the ear, are intrinsically sensitive. When these canals get disturbed due to the disintegration and flow of calcium carbonate that usually are positioned in a different area into the semicircular canals, the ear system will get impaired. Consequently, the brain will not get the translated messages about the body movement, and hence the individual will experience vertigo.
Symptoms of Benign positional vertigo (BPV): The indications of BPV will vary frequently; generally, the symptoms will appear and go within a time of a few minutes. The common symptoms include dizziness, vertigo, vomiting sensation, blurred vision, and loss of balance. If you notice the symptoms are more common, severe and vertigo lasting for more time you may need to visit the ENT specialist and get treated.
